Artifact Overview

Paula Lind earned her pilot's license in 1930 and joined the staff of the Casey Jones School of Aeronautics in New Jersey. There she tested and helped refine early versions of the Link Flight Trainer, which simulated instrument-only flying conditions for pilot instruction. Later during World War II, Lind operated the Link Flight Trainer at Ford's Willow Run bomber plant.
