Artifact Overview

Richard Nixon selected Maryland governor Spiro Agnew as his running mate in his successful 1968 presidential campaign. Agnew served as 39th Vice President of the United States, but he resigned in 1973 while under investigation for corruption. This poster mocked Agnew by portraying him as one of the smuggling bikers in the 1969 movie Easy Rider.
