Token, Ku Klux Klan: "United We Stand, Divided We Fall," circa 1930

01

Artifact Overview

The Ku Klux Klan was reborn in the late 1910s and flourished in the early 1920s. It declined beginning in the mid-1920s, but never completely disappeared. This small KKK token contains innocuous phrasing and mystic-like symbols belying the hatred, vigilantism, and violence found under the hood of the Klan.
