Artifact Overview

Ford Motor Company's separate Continental Division chose a four-pointed star as its logo in 1956. The star evolved from a crest-style emblem that Lincoln had adopted in the 1942 model year. The Continental Division was merged into Lincoln after just two years. Following that merger, the Continental star became the symbol of the whole Lincoln line.
