Artifact Overview

Vera Richardson was a respected Detroit musician known for her accomplishments playing the theremin. The theremin is played by moving one's hands near the instrument's antennas; there is no physical contact. Richardson ran a music studio out of her home and from 1936-52 she played the theremin on "The Green Hornet" radio series. During the 1930s Richardson gave performances at the Dearborn Inn.
