The design heads from each of Detroit's Big Three automakers gathered for this group portrait circa 1960. Virgil Exner led Chrysler's design studio from 1953 to 1961. Bill Mitchell headed design at General Motors from 1958 to 1977. George Walker directed Ford's design efforts from 1955 to 1961.
