Single Ox Yoke, 1890-1920

This carved, wooden yoke captures the strength of an ox's neck and shoulders. The carved beam is placed on the back of the ox's neck while the curved wood bow is secured around its neck. Once trained and fitted with a yoke, this large, powerful animal can pull wagons, transport heavy loads, and plow fields.
