Motor Home Collectible, circa 1980

Artifact Overview

A new generation of self-propelled recreational vehicles emerged out of the booming vacation market of the 1950s and 1960s. Fully integrated motorhomes allowed vacationers to pursue outdoor lifestyles with all the comforts of home. This collectible was reminiscent of a resurgence of interest in motorhomes during the 1980s, when they became more energy-efficient than earlier gas-guzzling models.
