01

Artifact Overview

Established in 1913, the Georgian Bay Line carried passengers to ports throughout Lakes Superior, Michigan, Huron, and Erie aboard its steamships North American and South American. After World War II, the company shifted to pleasure cruises, but its seasonal voyages struggled to compete with year-round cruises in warmer waters. Georgian Bay Line ended operations after the 1967 season.
