The Chicago Flexible Shaft Company introduced an electric iron with the Sunbeam name around 1920. The company's growing success in the home appliance and personal care market led it to change its name to the Sunbeam Corporation in 1946. The company manufactured a range of kitchen and household electrical goods, including irons, coffeemakers, food mixers, frypans, and toasters.
