Bottle of Red Gage Fluid for Manometer on SuperFlow Bench, 1980-1998

01

Artifact Overview

Race teams test the airflow through engine parts such as carburetors, cylinder heads, and air filters using a flow bench. This analysis creates more efficient engines and, hopefully, winning race cars. Air pressure, a key data element, is measured with a manometer. A flow bench's manometer uses a column of liquid to measure pressure. This container holds fluid needed to refill this important instrument.
