Big Boy Restaurant Waxed Paper Cup, 1987-1997

01

Artifact Overview

In 1936, only a few years out of high school, Robert C. Wian, Jr. bought a lunch stand in Glendale, California. There he "invented" the Big Boy double-decker sandwich. The popularity of this sandwich encouraged Bob to open a chain of drive-ins across the country, which were later restyled into the classic family-oriented coffee shops that we know today.
