Styrofoam Cup from TCBY, circa 2005
01
Artifact Overview
A recent trend in Americans' ice cream choices has been a preference for lowfat, "healthier" alternatives like frozen yogurt. The initial wave of frozen yogurt popularity occurred during the 1980s, starting with TCBY (The Country's Best Yogurt) in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1981. TCBY would go on to become the largest frozen yogurt store chain in the world by 1990.
