In the 1960s, Dave Friedman was staff photographer for Shelby American, where he documented the design, development and success of Carroll Shelby's innovative race cars. Friedman later worked as an on-set photographer in Hollywood before turning his lens to classical ballet. His images captured over 60 years of motorsport history, and he authored more than 30 books on automobile racing.
