Artifact Overview

Condensers (also known as capacitors) allow alternating electrical currents to pass while blocking direct currents. Condensers can block, pass, filter and tune the various currents of the radio. This homemade condenser, sealed in wax, was used in the laboratory of Amos E. Dolbear, a physicist and inventor in the fields of wireless and telephone communication.
