Artifact Overview
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) helped change American attitudes about drunk driving. Formed in 1980, MADD advocates for traffic safety and victim's rights legislation. Their efforts helped push down drunk driving-related traffic deaths. In the late 1980s, 7-Eleven helped distribute red ribbons -- part of the Tie One On For Safety campaign -- to remind the public to drive safe and sober.
