Though an accomplished racing driver in his own right, Roger Penske made his greatest impact as a team owner. Team Penske, founded in 1966, excelled in nearly every form of American auto racing. By its 50th anniversary in 2016, the team's accomplishments included 27 national racing championships, 16 wins at the Indianapolis 500, and two wins at the Daytona 500.
