Artifact Overview
Chris Amon drove in Formula One races from 1963 to 1976, making 96 starts and earning 11 podium finishes. In 1966 he partnered with fellow New Zealander Bruce McLaren to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a Ford GT40. Though Amon never won an F1 Grand Prix race, he was widely considered one of the sport's best drivers.
