Magnolia Motor Motel Drinking Glass, 1950-1970

01

Artifact Overview

Faced with competition, some hotels became more motel-like, offering free parking, a more relaxed atmosphere, and a new "motor hotel" designation. The Magnolia Motor Hotel, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, was one example of these. Located at the Mississippi River Bridge, it had 65 bedrooms, a dining room, a coffee shop, and a pool.
