Hot rodding took off in southern California after World War II. The Southern California Timing Association (SCTA), who sponsored this exposition, ran hot rod events at southern California's dry lakes, developing safety rules and equipment, and running the races safely and efficiently. This trade show brought together users and suppliers to spark ideas and ignite hot rod culture and economy.
