Howard F. Hobbs published a series of travel guides that gave "helpful, honest information not obtainable from any other source." The guides contained a map and road surface quality charts. Also helpful were lists of local hotels, cottages, auto camps, and mechanical services and dealerships. This 1932 guide covered a number of U.S. highways from New York to the Gulf coast.
