File Used in Automobile Customizing, 1957-1969

Artifact Overview

Vixen file holders are great tools for car customizers. Tightening or loosening the turnbuckle adjusts the file's contour, allowing the customizer to smooth the body lead to achieve just the right look. This Vixen holder and file was used by Detroit's Alexander Brothers. About 60 unique, fully-customized cars rolled out of Larry and Mike's shop between 1957 and 1959.
