Baker Henry J. Boerth and his family opened their first restaurant on Woodward Avenue in 1894. By 1919, Boerth's Lunch Company owned and operated restaurants at four locations in Detroit, although the company was out of business by 1923. This is H.J. Boerth's Quick Lunch, which opened in 1901 at 108 Woodward Avenue.
