Artifact Overview
AMC produced distinctive designs that set its cars apart from those of General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler. The compact AMC Pacer, designed by Dick Teague and introduced in 1975, certainly looked different. But its bulbous shape gave the car more interior room than seemed possible from the outside -- and endeared the Pacer to its fans.
