"Futuramic Oldsmobile" Sales Brochure, 1948

Oldsmobile branded its top-of-the-line Ninety-Eight series models as "Futuramic" for 1948. In addition to all-new styling, standard equipment included a "Rocket" inline-8 engine and "Hydra-Matic Drive" automatic transmission. Oldsmobile built more than 65,000 Ninety-Eight series cars that year in sedan and convertible body styles.
