Artifact Overview

"Roads of the Pacific" was part of the Ford Building, the most popular attraction at the 1935 California Pacific International Exposition. Most visitors to the experience rode in brand new Ford V-8s through 14 reproductions of historic and modern roadways. These men pose along a recreated section of plank road that negotiated sand dunes in the southwestern United States.
