Artifact Overview

Darlene Dorgan, accompanied by four or five young women, spent summer vacations during the 1930s and early 1940s traveling in her 1926 Model T. The carefree troupes from Bradford, Illinois, roamed the United States and Canada in a self-painted silver "T" meeting new friends and making news. In 1939, the happy-go-lucky vacationers drove the "Silver Streak" to the New York World's Fair.
