Russian Brochure Featuring Fordson Tractors and Other Ford Products, 1926

01

Artifact Overview

When Ford Motor Company representatives toured Russia in 1926, they found Ford tractors and vehicles in use everywhere. The Soviet government invited the team in hopes that Ford would build factories there. Three years later, Ford agreed to oversee construction of plants at Nizhny Novgorod and Moscow. Though Ford ultimately lost money on its Russian venture, the effort generated considerable publicity.
