Hughie Hughes pilots his Mercer race car around a banked turn at the Savannah, Georgia, race course in November 1911. Racers from around the world came to compete in a number of races, including the Vanderbilt Cup. Hughes won the Savannah Challenge Cup, but he withdrew from the Vanderbilt Cup after only three laps.
