Pennant, "Skyline Drive, Shenandoah National Park, Va.," 1940-1965

01

Artifact Overview

After World War II, highways were flooded with family vacationers out to enjoy their new cars and all that America had to offer. Sometimes the road traveled was part of the journey. Virginia's Skyline Drive offered 105 miles of scenic views along the Shenandoah Blue Ridge. This souvenir pennant depicts the 670-foot-long Marys Rock Tunnel -- the only tunnel on the drive.
