Artifact Overview

Tourists purchase simple, inexpensive souvenirs as proof of their travels. These mementos transport vacationers back to the places they visited and the things they did. In the mid-20th century, felt pennants were trendy. Many of these pennants depict famous landmarks, like the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas. The shrine is the site where a band of citizen soldiers died fighting for Texas independence in 1836.
