Ford Tractor with Ferguson System (9N), 1940

Ford Motor Company managers used working models like this to convince local dealers of the benefit of the 3-point hitch system. The wooden container included removable components with grooves. Demonstrators hitched the tractor to two different type plows. Moving the tractor along the grooves showed how the implement control system maintained a straighter track and consistent depth of a plow.
