Don Frey (center) was photographed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June 1966. Frey was Ford Motor Company's chief engineer, and he was an active supporter of the automaker's racing efforts. Frey and his colleagues had reason to celebrate at Le Mans that year. Ford finished first, second and third with three of its GT40 Mark II cars.
