New Zealander Denny Hulme drove the #1 Ford GT40 Mark II with Ken Miles at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans. Hulme took second place in his only Le Mans appearance. He competed in 112 Grand Prix events and won the 1967 Formula One World Drivers' Championship. Hulme won the Can-Am Championship in 1968 and 1970.
