Ford introduced the Escape for 2001. It represented the growing trend toward crossover vehicles combining elements of an SUV and a traditional sedan. For 2004 Ford offered a hybrid gas-electric Escape -- the company's first hybrid vehicle. This brochure promoted the 2011 Ford Escape Hybrid, which boasted a city fuel economy rating of up to 34 miles per gallon.
