Jeanetta Holder combined her loves of sewing and auto racing by creating and presenting a quilt to the winner of the Indianapolis 500 each year. Holder's quilts became an Indy tradition. Mario Andretti received a quilt in 1981. He was declared the winner after officials lodged a penalty against first-place finisher Bobby Unser. After protest and appeals, Unser's victory was reinstated.
