Dave Friedman captured and preserved auto racing history. His photography -- and his collection of works by other photographers -- documents key races, cars, drivers, and teams. This photo caught designer and Team Lotus principal Colin Chapman trying out the cockpit in Jim Hurtubise's #56 car during qualifying trials for the 1967 Indianapolis 500. Hurtubise did not qualify for the race.
