caption on photo: This wireless telegraph station was operated by the American deForest Wireless Telegraph Company from June 29, 1905 to September 17, 1907. Transmitter consisted of a 2 kilowatt open core transformer, an 18 leyden-jar condenser, a spark-gap, helix type serial tuning inductance, hand-key and a change-over switch for switching from transmitting to receiving. Receiver consisted of an electrolytic detector, a three-coil tuning inductance with five slides and a pair of head telephones.
