Henry Ford and Edsel Ford posed for this portrait about 1919. That was a momentous year for father and son. Henry stepped down as president of Ford Motor Company, and Edsel succeeded him on January 1, 1919. It was part of the Fords' larger effort to buy out minority stockholders. By July they'd succeeded -- gaining total control of the company.
