Actors, authors, and artists have passed through the entrance gates; business leaders, royalty, politicians, and a host of others have toured the exhibits. Photographs by the institution's photographer were taken if the celebrity allowed it. In 1977, comedian Joan Rivers got a taste of the living history programs at Greenfield Village.

The Plympton House is one room with a loft. The central circular chimney was constructed first and the rest of the house was built around it. This design offered warmth from the harsh New England winters. The continual need to grow or make many of the things they needed left little time for luxuries for these early colonists.
