Ford V-8 Tank and Stake Trucks at J.A. Mercier Oil Company, June 1935

01

Artifact Overview

Ford's trucks and commercial vehicles received a styling update for 1935 with new cabs and front-end sheet metal. Ford discontinued four-cylinder engines in its car and trucks, offering only its popular flathead V-8. Commercial cars and light-duty pickups were designated Model 50, while heavy-duty trucks were categorized under Model 51. Sales increased that year as the Great Depression eased.
