Artifact Overview

In 1985, Greenfield Village hosted a recreation of a 1912 Chautauqua Movement assembly. The movement was a series of educational events during the late-19th and early-20th centuries that took place in the eponymous New York town and other cities across the country. A typical Chautauqua assembly happened outdoors and featured speeches and shows from famous politicians, writers, and entertainers.
