Artifact Overview
Cyclists Lette Shay and Tom Cooper pose with their bicycles in the early 1890s. Cooper would race against the best cyclists throughout the 1890s and would win the Bicycle Championship of America in 1899. In the early 1900s he partnered with Henry Ford and raced automobiles. Cooper died in 1906 racing a car through Central Park in New York City.
