Sammy Sessions competed in the USAC Championship Car series from 1965-1975. He started in 62 races, including seven appearances in the Indianapolis 500, and earned 21 top-ten finishes. Sessions made his personal-best fourth-place Indy 500 finish in 1972, and he earned a USAC Sprint Car Series championship that same year. Sessions was killed in a snowmobile racing accident in 1977.
