01
Artifact Overview
When Henry Ford II became president of Ford Motor Company in 1945, the firm was in crisis. It had suffered the death of his father, Edsel Ford, in 1943, and subsequent unsteady leadership by his ailing grandfather, Henry Ford. The young Ford hired a team of management experts and transformed the automaker from an outsized family business into a modern corporation.
