The Great Lakes Naval Training Station Bluejackets traveled to Dearborn, Michigan, to play the Ford All-Stars on July 14, 1943. Five thousand fans showed up at Ford's Rotunda Field to watch the Bluejackets' 6-2 victory. The Navy's team was managed by former Detroit Tigers all-star catcher Mickey Cochrane.
