Artifact Overview
In the 1950s, Holiday Inns founder Kemmons Wilson created a motel chain that offered consistent, quality service and amenities that his own family would appreciate. For many years, in addition to now-standard features like free parking, air conditioning, and in-room telephones and televisions, Holiday Inns provided babysitting services and doctors and chaplains on call.
