Dave Friedman captured and preserved auto racing history through his photography and memorabilia. This program is from the inaugural Rex Mays 300 at California's Riverside International Raceway, where Dan Gurney took the checkered flag. The event was named for Riverside-born driver Rex Mays, who was killed in a racing crash at Del Mar, California, in 1949.
