Pacific Grand Prix, October 1962

Dave Friedman has captured and preserved auto racing history through his photography. His work -- and his collection of works by other photographers -- documents key races, vehicles, drivers, and teams. This photograph was taken at the 1962 Pacific Grand Prix held at the Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California. Roger Penske, who later enjoyed even greater success as a race team owner, drove to victory.
