Evinrude Outboard Motor, 1914
01
Artifact Overview
Ole and Bessie Evinrude sold their first outboard motors in 1909, and within five years their Milwaukee-based company was firmly established. This one-cylinder motor is a direct descendant of the first Evinrude units, with only minor refinements. The motor originally was started with a knob on the flywheel but later was converted to rope starting.
